  • Future-state process designs and automation mock-ups.

  • Comprehensive documentation and Sprint 0 roadmap to drive delivery.

Statistic:

  • ~£2.5M projected savings across 3 years.

  • 7,000 hours per year identified for potential automation.

Background

A leading global maritime organisation, operating across multiple regions and serving a worldwide customer base, sought to modernise its Finance operations as part of a broader transformation programme.

Finance functions were heavily reliant on manual, spreadsheet-driven processes across A2R activities, leading to long reporting cycles, error risk, and limited ability to scale. The leadership team recognised that without automation, Finance would remain reactive and transactional - unable to provide the insight and agility required by the wider business.

Enfuse Group was engaged to assess, design, and prepare the foundation for a future-ready A2R automation programme.

Challenge

The organisation faced several barriers to achieving Finance transformation:

  • Manual, fragmented processes across Financial Reporting, Treasury, and FP&A.

  • Inefficiencies and cycle delays undermining timely decision-making.

  • High operational effort, consuming thousands of hours that could not be redeployed to strategic analysis.

A structured, data-backed roadmap was required to identify and prioritise automation opportunities and build organisational alignment around the future-state vision.

The Enfuse Approach

Enfuse partnered with Finance leadership, transformation teams, and process SMEs to define the future state and create a practical roadmap for automation delivery.

Implementation in Phases

  1. Assess – Navigating the Landscape
Conducted deep-dive workshops and volumetric data analysis to map current-state A2R processes, quantify effort drivers, and identify inefficiencies.

  2. Prioritise – Setting the Course
Analysed workflows to determine automation opportunities, ranking and prioritising processes using data-driven insights.

  3. Design – Building the Fleet
Created detailed future-state process maps, supported by automation mock-ups to bring benefits to life and highlight transformation value.

  4. Review – Aligning the Crew
Presented the automation vision across Finance functions to build momentum. Defined a Sprint 0 strategy and roadmap, providing a strong foundation for implementation.

Enfuse produced detailed process documentation, created ROI models, and ensured alignment between global standards and local operational needs.

Impact

  • Projected ~£2.5M in savings over 3 years.

  • Projected freeing up~7,000+ hours annually, enabling Finance teams to refocus on higher-value work.

  • Established a robust Sprint 0 roadmap and business case to accelerate automation delivery.

  • Strengthened Finance’s ability to act as a strategic partner by reducing cycle times and error risks.

  • Positioned the organisation for scalable, sustainable transformation across A2R.
